Manufacturing Engineers - Fabrication Engineers - Furnace/Forming Engineers

AGY is looking for Manufacturing Engineers for both its Aiken, SC and Huntingdon, PA locations.  Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and a minimum of 5-7 years experience.  Responsibilities included providing technical support of manufacturing processes, increasing/improving utilization and efficiency, and minimizing product variability.  Microsoft-Office Suite knowledge is a must and Oracle database experience is preferred.  SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, conveyors and burner skills are desired.  Please send your resume to jobs@agy.com and include the title in the subject line of your email.

 

Shift Supervisors - Aiken, SC

This position is designed to be the main interface with the primary workforce. Staffs/directs production workforce on daily basis to meet production, quality safety goals. Quality Engineer - Aiken, SC

In this role you will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and improving Quality Management System that meets or exceeds ISO 9001 requirements.  Serves as the plant liaison for ISO registrations via certifying agency.  Provides support and training to the manufacturing organization by providing useful information to allow managers to make sound decisions relating to product quality. Industrial Engineers – Aiken, SC

This person will provide IE support on AGY Manufacturing lines and develop training programs to support for our organization.  Providing them the tools they need to effectively supervise their employees and manage their areas. Determine process improvements and efficiencies. Safety and Environmental Manager – Aiken, SC

The Manager will lead continuous improvement initiatives by building and maintaining the environmental health & safety infrastructure, developing and delivering best practices for our facility.  In this role you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the safety operations of the facility. Will have a demonstrated knowledge of applicable environmental health and safety regulations with equal success in managing systems & processes including, OSHA and EPA compliance, training, safety audits, workers compensation, air, water, and hazardous waste. Capital Project Engineer - Aiken, SC

In this role you will be responsible for the cost effective use of capital money to maximize the use of the existing and future capital assets of the company at both plant facilities. You will manage and execute project plans working with project managers and cross-functional teams.  A “Best Practices” approach to the capital appropriations process should be established and maintained to communicate, obtain approval, track expenses, and verify ROIs for all capital projects.  Strong knowledge of plant operations and engineering processes, particularly in continuous process materials industries (plastics, glass, chemicals, etc.) Working knowledge of Six sigma, Lean, and or related continuous improvement methodologies is included. Manufacturing Project Manager Sr. – Aiken, SC

Manage the execution of large, complex projects that will significantly transform the manufacturing operations.  Manage entire life cycle including schedule, prioritization, risk assessment, budgeting, engineering, procurement, quality, construction, and start-up, execution, and project closure.  Integrate appropriate staff to ensure project objectives are met while continuing to meet Customer requirements.

 

Manage and execute plans by working closely with project leaders and cross-functional team members. Monitor and control project to meet the stated objectives and established metrics. Develop and manage master schedule and detailed sub-schedules.  Work closely with Finance to evaluate, forecast, and manage capital expenditures.  Interface with key company resources such as engineering, purchasing, operations, IT, and HR to maximize resources utilization.  Advocate strong safety awareness; partner with Safety leadership to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.

Production Planning Manager – Aiken, SC

We are looking for a planning manager to support our manufacturing organization. You will be responsible for a team of production schedulers and assure that all who impact the supply chain have a system for managing their requirements that provides you with assurance that the desired supply will be available per plan. Work closely with the Product Manager to ensure proper inventories are available to satisfy the financial targets of the business while properly servicing the customers. Review current planning tools and determine shortcomings.  Be the interface between the sales organization and the operations group; communicate clearly any supply issues that will impact customers directly. IT – Information Data Management Engineer – Aiken, SC

We are looking for a candidate to provide leadership from within manufacturing to identify, propose, define, develop, test, and deliver software and integrated systems which allow manufacturing personnel to closely monitor, evaluate, refine, and improve all manufacturing processes and procedures.  The person who fills this position will work closely with manufacturing personnel to identify and develop new methods to gather and report data in order to expose and characterize sources of variation and system/procedural flaws that affect the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of our data streams - resulting in excessive waste and variation.  In addition, you will act as a liaison between Manufacturing and IT to develop and maintain a comprehensive data integration strategy that covers all systems that are related to the operational performance of all manufacturing processes.

This corporate position reports to the CFO.  In a brief summary, the successful candidate will be responsible for the financial planning and analysis for AGY Holdings. Reporting to the Corporate Director, Human Resources, develop talent management strategies and execution plans that improve business results. Develop recruitment, retention, employee development, and learning plans for the professional and technical workforce that are aligned to the business. Develop and manage an effective annual performance management process linked to the business strategy. Lead talent development initiatives such as rotational assignments and mentoring programs. Labor Relations Specialist – Aiken, SC

Partner with plant manager, supervisors, and union representatives to execute labor relations plans.  Manage grievance procedure and arbitration proceedings to ensure the efficient operations. Provide counsel to management to ensure consistent policy and contract interpretations. Lead in activities to investigate and resolve labor relations issues.  Build effective working relationships with union leadership, employees and managers.  Provide leadership in the training of supervisory employees.  Minimum 2-5 years experience in plant labor relations. Knowledge in all aspects of labor law as it applies to union and non-union environments. Understanding of collective bargaining agreements and their impact on non-union employees and business operations.
