AGY Adds Three Vice Presidents to
Lead
Technology, Operations, Sales and Marketing
Aiken, S. C., Feb. 16, 2005 – Douglas
J. Mattscheck, President and Chief Executive Officer of
AGY, announced today that three vice presidents joined the
company’s senior leadership team in January to manage
the functions of technology, operations and sales and marketing.
The new vice presidents are:
- Dennis O. Rexroad, Operations
- Andrew J. Walker, Sales
and Marketing
- Sudhir Hublikar, Ph.D.,
Technology
“The talents and backgrounds of these
three individuals will be vital in enabling our team to
meet the demands of our growing business and insure we are
well positioned for future success,” said Mattscheck.
Rexroad will oversee activities of the Aiken
and Huntingdon manufacturing plants, as well as the purchasing
and planning functions. Before joining AGY he was Group
Vice President of Operations at Cooley Group Inc., Pawtucket,
R.I., a global manufacturer of advanced polymer coatings
and reinforced membranes using textile yarn composites.
He had previously spent 10 years at Toray Plastics (America)
Inc., a leading manufacturer of polyester and polypropylene
films. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical
Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State
University.
“Dennie has a strong background in successfully
directing global operations within the textile industry,”
said Mattscheck. “He has demonstrated an ability to
focus on customer service and quality while implementing
innovative manufacturing cost improvement programs.”
Walker will oversee the company’s global
sales and marketing teams while expanding activities in
New Business Development. He was previously Global Director
of Sales for Sappi Warren Release Paper, Boston Mass., and
prior to that he spent eight years in various leadership
positions with Victrex USA Inc., Greenville, S.C. He received
a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Industrial Product Design from
Sheffield University in England, and is currently studying
for a Master of Business Administration Degree in Global
Management with the University of Phoenix.
“Drew has a strong background in global
sales and marketing management in a variety of industries
including the high performance paper and plastics industries,”
added Mattscheck. “He also brings strong experience
in the area of strategic alliances and new business development.”
Hublikar will oversee all aspects of the Technology
function and insure that AGY is well positioned with a new
innovative product portfolio for the global high performance
materials marketplace. He joins the company after serving
as Director of Technology for the Performance Coatings Group
at Noveon, Inc., Brecksville, Ohio. He was previously Director
of Technology for B.F. Goodrich’s Specialty Plastics
Business, and an Engineering Manager in the Aerospace division.
His academic training includes a Ph.D. in
Fiber and Polymer Science from North Carolina State University,
and an MBA from Arizona State University.
“Sudhir brings a strong background in
coatings and polymer science as well as familiarity with
industrial and aerospace applications of materials,”
said Mattscheck. “He has demonstrated success in aligning
the technology function with business strategy, as well
as the implementation of advanced product portfolio and
project management systems.”
