AGY Holding Corp. Names New President and CEO

AGY Holding Corp., global leader in high performance glass fiber materials, today announced that Al Ridilla has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer. He will assume day-to-day leadership of the Company and will join the AGY Board of Directors. Ridilla joins AGY with more than thirty years of successful commercial, operational and executive leadership experience at market leading advanced materials technology companies. Most recently, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Parkway Products where he spent twenty years leading the company through a period of transformative growth, margin expansion and multiple successful private equity exits. “Al brings deep strategic and operational know-how to strengthen and expand AGY’s business in the United States and in our European and Asian markets,” said Ryan Carroll, managing director in the Private Credit Group at the TCW Group, which acquired a majority stake in AGY in September of 2020. “His well-rounded executive experience in strategic planning, revenue growth, innovation, acquisitions and financial and operational management will help propel our future growth.” Ridilla began his career at GE Aviation in product development and operations management roles focused in advanced polymer composites and high temperature superalloys. He held executive sales and marketing positions at both SABIC Innovative Materials and Victrex in North America and Europe. In addition, he was involved in three successful start-up companies manufacturing magnesium molded components, composite snowboards and RF integrated circuits. Al holds BS and MS degrees in Materials Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and the University of Dayton, is a graduate of various GE executive and financial training programs, a Six Sigma Black Belt and has three U.S. patents. “We have a bright future at AGY with a product portfolio and world-class technology that delivers lightweight, high strength, impact resistant and specialized electrical performance solutions to facilitate the success of our customers across many end markets globally,” said Ridilla. Ridilla succeeds Thomas Pearson who has been serving as acting President and Chief Executive Officer since the retirement of Patrick Burns in February of 2022. Pearson will remain engaged at AGY as an operational consultant for the foreseeable future. “AGY’s dedication to onshore production addresses supply chain challenges in numerous industries and marketplaces around the world,” said Pearson. “Our domestic manufacturing facility offers customers a reliable source of the latest advancements in materials used in a broad line of products such as flexible roofing for outdoor stadiums and airports, cellular telephones, printed circuit boards, aircraft flooring and interiors, and vehicle and vessel armor protection.”
